 LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre and LEGO® Education work in partnership to deliver high quality educational experiences. We offer well-designed, age appropriate workshops that support the educational curriculum.

Our lessons are designed to bring maths, science, engineering and language to life and encourage skills in communication, collaboration, critical-thinking and problem solving. Discover the learning philosophy of LEGO Education in the thrilling atmosphere of LEGOLAND Discovery Centre, offering a wonderful balance of learning and fun!

LEGO® Therapy Workshop - COMING SOON

Through LEGO® Therapy children on the autistic spectrum are encouraged to communicate and solve a problem by being given specific roles. Working in teams of 2  or 3, children take turns in the assigned roles of ‘engineer’ ‘builder’ and ‘helper’ on a building task. Suitable for all ages.

Inspire your students imaginations with educational play that harnesses the limitless creative possibilities of LEGO® bricks.

LEGOLAND Discovery Centre offer hands-on learning across the curriculum, including science, mathematics, language arts, technology, and engineering design, while building and reinforcing Collaboration, Communication, Creativity, Critical Thinking and Problem Solving.

Our centre facilitates learning through interactive experiences to promote deeper engagement with the subject matter. 

We have various workshops that are suited for your school classes. 

Spinning Tops Workshop

Explore the effects of gearing, and balanced and unbalanced forces on the movement of an object, Can you build a device that can make a spinning top spin? What changes can be make it spin for longer? Suitable for ages 5-7.

Seesaw Workshop - COMING SOON

Explore balances and forces, pivots, levers and weight.  Can you build a seesaw that will balance? Learn how movement can be described in many ways, how levers, pivot points weight and loads affect balance & how cause and effect can be explored in mechanical systems. Suitable for ages 5-7.

Let's build a catapult! Build and test models that use first class levers. What changes make the catapult project further? Investigate pivot, effort, load & first class levers. Measure with standard units of measure & predict outcomes of various trials. Suitable for ages 8-11.

Let's build a Go-Cart! What is needed for a go-cart to move and turn? Identify a wheel and axle as a simple machine and where friction might be found. Investigate steering, axles, standard units of measure, friction, then predict outcomes of various trials. Suitable for ages 8-11.

Our Pre-school program taps in to young children's innate desire to explore, investigate and learn.

See your pre-schoolers imagine, create and explore whole new worlds with oversize LEGO® bricks designed to fit perfectly in small hands.

We believe that playing is the best way to learn for pre-schoolers and LEGOLAND Discovery Centre are the ultimate LEGO classroom.

After completing the NEW LEGO Education workshops, children can put their newfound knowledge into action around the centre using the specially developed, unique worksheets and resources available for download.

The maximum capacity in the workshop room is 30. This includes teachers and helpers but excludes workshop host and LDC staff.
If your party is bigger than this, the workshop can be split in to sessions throughout your visit.

There is no disabled rate but if a member of your class is registered disabled you will be entitled to admit one free carer with them. Please ensure that you bring documentation with you on the day such as your blue badge, DLA Letter or note from a doctor or specialist. If you are booking in advance, you do not need to book a ticket for your carer.

 WE are located in Barton Square, within intu Trafford Centre. We are situated right next to SEA LIFE and Homesense, just next to the Barton Square Car Park.

Cars and coaches can park on the Barton Square car park which is situated right outside the attraction. This is accessed via the road between the Trafford Centre and Event City.
